“XR Ecohack 2020 is a first intercollegiate XR virtual hackathon hosted by Unity College. The 24-hour hackathon event ran Nov. 28 and 29 and involved students from across the country working together to solve a problem.
Six teams of students came together virtually to solve real-world global environmental challenges, ultimately coming up with presentations to share by using eXtended Reality (XR) technology.”
During the Hackathon, FIU’s team collaborated with Southwestern Oregon Community College. The Virtual Panthers, were made up of 2 computer science students, Haczar Criollo and Erik Coltey. Southwestern Oregon Students had a focus on Ecology and Preservation. Together they created an application that informed users about the resulting water level according to the solutions the user has the option of implementing.
